About Dr. Eric Berg

Dr. Eric Berg, DC, The Knowledge Doc, created the Berg Institute of Health & Wellness in Seminole, Florida, in 1997, where he now serves as CEO. The Institute's mission is to assist people in understanding their health, the demands of their bodies, and how to overcome nutritional inadequacies.

Dr. Berg empowers people to take charge of their health and well-being to reach their optimal weight loss objectives, aided by the keto diet and intermittent fasting.

Dr. Berg began many years of scientific research in nutrition after graduating from chiropractic school in 1988. His drive stemmed from a desire to comprehend his food-related health issues.

Dr. Eric now educates individuals on a variety of health-related issues. He specializes in deconstructing complicated health problems, linking symptoms to root causes, and developing nutritional therapy solutions. His distinctive healthy keto diet and intermittent fasting—a long-term eating plan—are now widely regarded as a game changers in achieving amazing levels of healthiness.

Dr. Eric Berg's dramatic transformation in his health due to new insights gained through deeper research into the science of nutrition eventually prompted him to transition from full-time chiropractic work
Dr. Eric worked as a chiropractor in San Diego, CA, Shreveport, LA, and Alexandria, VA, before becoming CEO of the Berg Institute of Health & Wellness in Seminole, FL, in 1997.

Dr. Eric Berg received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 1988 from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, after studying pre-med at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside from 1983 to 1985 and serving in the Army Reserves, where he was trained in X-ray technology.

National-Lincoln School of Postgraduate Education; Southern California College of Chiropractic; International Scoliosis Research Center; Risk Management, Louisiana Union of Chiropractic; and Motor Vehicle Crash Injuries, LUCP provided more advanced and specialist academic instruction.

Dr. Berg passed parts I, II, and III of the National Board of Chiropractic Examination, earned the Certificate of Proficiency in Chiropractic X-ray, became a board-certified chiropractor in Virginia, California, and Louisiana, and was certified in Microscopy, live blood cell analysis, and diagnostic interpretation of neuro-selective current perception threshold.

Dr. Eric has given enormous personal resources—in time, money, and broad public outreach—to philanthropic organizations that share his passion for wellness and healing over his many years in the public eye as a recognized authority in the science of nutrition. The Bergs and his wife, Karen, give generously to the public on a national and international scale through diets and fitness teaching.

Dr. Eric Berg served over 40,000 patients in his 30 years of chiropractic practice in Alexandria, Virginia. He also conducted internal and external seminars for government organizations such as the Library of Congress, the Federal Communications Commission, the National Institute of Science, and the FBI.

Dr. Berg conducted yearly Keto Health Summits, most recently in Washington, DC, between 2017 and 2019 (when the epidemic paused such major public events). Yearly attendance quickly swelled to 1,000 physicians, diet coaches, healthcare practitioners, and a slew of keto-dieters sharing extraordinary wellness stories and significant weight loss. Many nationally renowned speakers, experts in keto diets and metabolic health, were included at the gatherings.

Dr. Berg's work has been featured in numerous major periodicals and many TV and radio programs, including Channel 9 CBS Nightly and Channel 8 News.

Dr. Berg has taught his methodologies, tactics, and empirical discoveries to over 2,500 health professionals. He is a key figure in raising awareness of the role that ketogenic diets and intermittent fasting can play in boosting health and wellness.

Dr. Eric Berg's love for health pervades his life outside the Berg Institute, particularly in his hobbies and interests. "I am continuously seeking for fundamental causes why individuals get diseases—become it's a pastime," he says. His personal experience fighting the repercussions of overwork and overeating as "the meat and potatoes kid" fueled his devotion.

His new understanding of nutrition had finally rejuvenated his energy and ability to keep up with his wife Karen's hectic life and their three energetic children by the age of 32.

Eric's free time is becoming one of his most valuable but scarce commodities. Playing his handcrafted guitar and working with Karen to create fresh, appealing health-infused kitchen products provide him with inspiration and leisure.

Dr. Berg now lives on a picturesque farm where he is researching cultivating nutrient-dense food and nutrient-dense animals. Karen agrees that everything in the kitchen came from the ground.
